	THE NEW CHILD CARE ACT

	ACT No: 38 OF 2005

		The *CHILDREN'S ACT OF 2005,* is the most important piece of legislation passed by Parliament to-date. It will effect all parents and those offering professional services to children irrespective of the type of service provided and or the format thereof. This piece of legislation sets out the the principles relating to the

protection of children, it defines parental responsibilities and makes provision for matters pertaining to amongst others the THE INTRODUCTION OF A NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION REGISTER and regulates the DUTY OF CARE FOR PERSONS NOT HAVING PARENTAL RIGHTS.

This same piece of legislation does also define and regulate both THE DETERMINATION OF PERSONS, DEEMED AS BEING UNSUITABLE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN and introduces the roles and responsibilities of all persons responsible for providing professional services associated to children.
